Yamaha Electronics Corporation introduced a new line of versatile,
high-performance AV receivers featuring the RX-V665 (MSRP: $549.95),
successor to the RX-V663, the industry’s best-selling model in 2008,
and the other four in the line - RX-V765, MSRP: $649.95; RX-V565, MSRP:
$479.95; RX-V465, MSRP: $379.95; and RX-V365, MSRP $249.95.
Yamaha’s new systems enable music and movie enthusiasts to fully enjoy
their Blu-ray players, broadcast HD services and gaming consoles with
comprehensive feature sets through most of the line. The top four
models feature four 1080p compatible HDMI inputs. The top three also
upscale analog video to 1080p full HD resolution for stunning, lifelike
picture quality, even from non-HD video sources. On the audio side, all
models, starting with the RX-V465, offer a full complement of surround
sound audio decoders (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; Dolby
Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio).
Showcased in the top four new models, Yamaha’s four pre-set SCENE
buttons (“BD/DVD,” “TV,” “CD” and “Radio” instantly ready the entire
system to deliver the desired entertainment experience by turning on
the correct components and activating the proper inputs, audio and
video features and surround mode combinations. The RX-V365 allows users
to manually set up to 13 system-configuring templates.
All models also give users access to the broadest range of today’s
popular content sources, including iPod compatibility through Yamaha’s
optional YDS-11 Universal Dock, and Bluetooth (A2DP) compatibility with
an optional Yamaha Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver (YBA-10).
Fully compatible with HD audio and video, the RX-V665 (90W x 7) vies to
become the new market leader. It provides the perfect combination of
performance and versatility with HD Audio decoding, sufficient HDMI
inputs, analog-to-HDMI 1080p video upscaling and custom installation
capabilities. The RX-V665 takes audio and video performance even
further with Deep Color (30/36 bit) technology, 120Hz/24Hz Refresh
Rates and Auto Lip-Sync compensation, which automatically eliminates
audio/video sync issues. Multi-zone and custom installation highlights
include assignable amplifiers for bi-amping, powering presence speakers
(back surround or front) or a second zone, as well as zone 2 on/off
control from the front panel, remote in/out and programmable +12V
trigger outputs. The RX-V665 is also Sirius/XM satellite radio ready
with XM HD Surround powered by Neural Surround.

The step-up RX-V765 (95W x 7) offers more power and high-quality
discrete amplification circuitry for best-in-class performance. For
those who may not need multi-zone capabilities, the RX-V565 (90W x 7)
provides a strong full-featured home theater centerpiece, as well as
on-screen capabilities. The five-channel RX-V465 (105W x 5; 4
1080p-compatible HDMI inputs) and RX-V365 (100W x 5; 2 HDMI inputs)
round out this formidable line.
Other features found throughout all or most of the line include Compressed Music
Enhancer that restores dynamics to music files ripped from CDs or
downloaded from the Internet (all units) and Adaptive Dynamic Range
Control that automatically increases the volume of softer dialog
passages when overall system volume is turned down (available in models
from RX-V465 and up). The Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimizer
(YPAO) simplifies home theater setup for most models (starting at the
RX-V465) by automatically analyzing room acoustics and setting
parameters for optimum sound quality at the touch of a button.
All models in the line include Yamaha’s Cinema DSP audio processing
that gives music and movies an extra sonic dimension with standout
presence, and Silent Cinema technology which makes it possible to hear
large-scale surround sound through standard headphones—ideal for
late-night home theater listening when the rest of the family is asleep.
