For the movie connoisseur the true cinematic experience means not
only the very best in audio and video quality but also the ambience of
a cinema theatre at home.
With the new Philips DVD Home Theatre System (HTS9810) featuring 9.1
Cinema Sound everybody can have an all enveloping, realistic cinema
experience at home now.
As part of Philips Design Collection range, the DVD Home Theater System
features high-gloss, high-quality materials with soft curves as well as
a slick touch-screen control panel with backlit, illuminated key
functions. The result is a truly stunning and contemporary design
fitting with the latest flat TVs.
The system comprises four speaker towers, plus a dedicated centre
speaker and super-slim main DVD/amplifier unit - which can be wall or
stand mounted - and a high-power subwoofer. The wireless rear speakers
ensure you don't need to have cables running across your living room.
Using the Philips 9.1 Cinema Sound technology (powered by Ambisound),
these 5 speakers create the experience of having 9 speakers in the
living room, making one feel truly embraced by sound. To further
recreate the atmosphere of the cinema all of the four speaker towers
have their own low-level 'cinema light' mounted near the base. The
cinema lights dim when the movie starts, and turn on when you pause or
stop the movie.
Each of the tower speakers has a high quality 18mm soft dome tweeter
plus a 2.5" woofer for conventional 5.1 reproductions with two
additional, specifically angled 2.5" full range driver. Together, they
create the 9.1 Cinema Sound effect.
The subwoofer which features a 150 watt Class 'D' digital amplifier,
takes care of a deep, detailed bass. Philips DoubleBASS processing adds
further depth and 'punch' to music and movie tracks by 'mapping' the
deepest, inaudible bass notes back on to the audible frequencies
delivered by the subwoofer.
The result is a totally immersive sound that gives the full ambience of
a movie to the audience in front of the TV, independent of where they
are sitting and whatever the size and shape of their room.
