The DTR-7.9 is among the first receivers available to carry THX's new Ultra2 Plus™ Certification, which includes the new THX Loudness Plus™ volume control technology. This new processing algorithm compensates for the tonal and spatial shifts that occur when the volume level is reduced below the reference levels that the original soundtrack was mastered for. For instance, by slightly increasing the relative volume of the ambient sound at lower volumes, the impact of movies, music and games is much closer to what the sound engineer originally intended
The
DTR-7.9 features five HDMI inputs, and is fully compatible with HDMI v.
1.3a, including 1080p and Deep Color™ 36-bit video signals. It features
onboard decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD
Master Audio, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audiomaking it fully capable
of exploiting the high definition audio as well as video potential of
the Blu-Ray disc formats, and all using a single HDMI cable connection.
All HDMI inputs are upscaled to 1080p resolution using Faroudja's DCDi
Cinema technology. Additionally, all inputs are also upscaled to 1080i
for output via the unit's component video output to accommodate
displays lacking HDMI inputs.
The Integra DTR-7.9 includes a comprehensive package of features specifically tailored to the needs of custom installers, including an Ethernet port for integration with Network-based control systems such as AMX Device Discovery and Crestron E-Control. It also includes bi-directional RS-232, RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) system control integration over HDMI, three programmable 12-volt triggers, dual IR inputs, and three unique assignable IR code sets. Lockable customized dealer settings can be independently stored for easy recall, making it simple for installers to maintain complex installations.
For simplified setup, the DTR-7.9 includes Audyssey's acclaimed MultEQ room acoustics correction, as well as Audyssey's Dynamic EQ algorithm, which refines the receiver's frequency response and surround levels moment-by-moment to compensate for deteriorations in the listening experience at different volume levels. These functions work together automatically to tailor the receiver's output to correct for room acoustics, listening position, and playback-level distortions, delivering an overall experience that is a much closer match to what the audio production engineers originally intended Designed
to offer maximum flexibility and integration options for multi-room
audio distribution and control, the DTR-7.9 is capable of processing
two audio sources simultaneously for both the main and second zones,
and includes a dedicated high definition capable Zone 2 component video
output. It features a selectable fixed/variable line level Zone 2
output to feed a dedicated zone receiver or amplifier. It also includes
Integra's Powered Zone 2 feature, which employs two of the receiver's
internal amplifier channels to power speakers in a second room while
simultaneously providing a full 5.1 channel home theater system in the
main room; when Zone 2 is turned off, the main zone reverts to
7.1-channel output. For the second zone there are independent controls
for bass, treble, balance, maximum volume, and power-on volume.
